Su-30MKI

The Sukhoi Su-30MKI OR Flanker-H(NATO name) is a twinjet multirole air superiority fighter.

It was developed in Russia by Sukhoi and is currently built under licence by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

It is a variant of the Sukhoi Su-30,it can be characterized as a heavy, all-weather, long-range fighter.

Su-30MKI is tailor-made for Indian Air Force specifications. 

It integrates Indian systems and avionics as well as French and Israeli sub-systems.

Because of the heavy payload capacity of Su 30MKI of 8,130 kg, it can be configured for various combat roles:

Air Superiority,

Ground Attack,

Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD),

Reconnaissance, etc.

Soon, the aircraft will be armed with RVV-SD and Astra BVRAAM as well as Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) and RVV-MD WVRAAM.

Armament :

·      Hardpoints: 12 hardpoints (2 × wing-tip AAM launch rails, 6 × pylons under-wing, 2 × pylon under-engine nacelles, and 2 × pylons in tandem in the "arch" between the engines. However, it can also be increased to 14 using multiple ejector racks) with provisions to carry combinations of:

 Guns: 

·         1 × 30 mm Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 autocannon (150 Rounds).

 Rockets:

·         4 × S-8.

·         4 × S-13.

 Missiles:

·         Air-to-Air missiles (AAM):

o    10 × R-77 (Medium-Range Being Replaced By I-Derby ER)

o    10 × I-Derby ER (Medium-Range Replacing R-77)

o    10 × Astra Mk1 (Long-Range).

o    6 × R-27ER/ET (Medium-Range).

o    2 × R-27R/T (Medium-Range).

o    6 × R-73 (Short-Range).

o    3 × K-100 (Extreme Long-Range AWACS Killer).

o    MICA (Medium-Range tested successfully).

 ·         Air-to-Surface missile(ASM)/Air-to-Ground missile(AGM):

o    3 × Kh-59ME(Range-200KM).

o    6 × Kh-29T/L (Range-30KM).

o    1 x BrahMos (Range-300KM).

o    2 × Nirbhay (Range-1000KM Planned).

 ·         Anti-Ship Missiles:

o    3 × Kh-59MK (Range-285KM). 

o    4 × Kh-35 (Range-300KM).

o    6 × Kh-31A (Range-103KM).

o    1 x BrahMos (Range-300KM).

·         Anti-radiation missiles:

o    DRDO Anti-Radiation Missile (Range-150KM).
